Message	stretching allowing some lateral flex in the crank. We disassembled a motor last week with some evidence that the girdle had been lifting particulary on journals #2 and #3. Either that or just the shear torque (or more likely shock loading) is snapping them at what seems to be the weakest point. I'll try and post some pics later.
